A strike which lasted 40 days has crippled the production of GM in United States had come to an end on Friday as the workers had approved a contract with GM.
The workers of GM had through a vote, voted in favor of the contract with 57% passing the pact. The vote was passed by a 23,389 to 17,501 margin as per the statement by the union.
A large number of workers had voted against this deal as it still has a lot of different pay-scales for the workers who are doing similar jobs.
The workers who are temporary can get their jobs to be permanent after a period of two or three years as per their starting date however they are going to start a the very bottom of this pay scale so the people who are doing the same work might end up at different rates of payment which is the reason behind a major portion of the workers had voted down the pact.
